Where do I go to make this change?
From your Dashboard, locate the assistant that you wish to edit (most people only have one, but we support multiple assistants) and click the Define Behaviours button.
How do I make sure the assistant sends the text message in the right scenario?
Now that you have enabled SMS Outbound, there will be a new section at the bottom of your Instructions page called How to instruct your assistant to send SMS messages.
Each template that you have defined will have an instruction listed which looks something like this:
Immediately call the *send_sms* tool and send the Website Link message. This is how we tell the assistant to send the specific SMS template.
Press the Copy icon beside this instruction to put it on your clipboard.
Find the right scenario on this page and write a plain English instruction to your assistant, using the phrase you have copied. Maybe something like this:
If the caller expresses an interest in reading all of the services you offer, ask them whether they want you to text them a link to the website. If they agree, immediately call the *send_sms* tool and send the Website Link message.
How do I disable sending SMS messages?
First, open your Dashboard and find the assistant on the that you want to enable SMS notifications for (most people only have one, but we support multiple assistants).
Click View More to expand the control panel
Click Notifications Centre.
How to enable SMS Outbound (sent to your callers)
Click the SMS Outbound (sent to your callers) tab at the top of the page and disable Allow your agent to send SMS messages to your callers.
Don't forget to also remove the instruction that you gave to your assistant on when to send the SMS message in the Define Behaviours page.
If you don't remove this instruction after disabling the ability to send message, the assistant will still talk to the caller about sending a message but it will never be sent. That could confuse your callers.
