For SMS messages, the "from" name that appears on the recipient's phone is called a Sender ID.

ComReg is the Irish Communications Regulator and in July 2025 launched the SMS Sender ID Registry in a bid to block scam SMS messages. SMS text messages sent from unregistered SMS Sender IDs since this date have been modified to ‘Likely Scam’. This was done to inform and protect the public from potential text scams, in accordance with ComReg’s Decision D14/24.

Bot Bureau can register a Sender ID with ComReg on your behalf - free of charge - and allow your AI Phone Assistant to send SMS messages to your callers with your custom Sender ID.

Sender IDs are between 3 and 11 characters long, and can be requested at the link below.

After registration, it takes around 5 working days for all mobile operators in Ireland to make the changes and recognise the Sender ID.
